Sorry about the lack of blogging over the last couple weeks. A few things have been happening.
1. I got hired by the Spokane Sidekick to do my very own humor column, which is awesome because it's something i've always wanted to do.
2. My band was featured in the recent issue of said Spokane Sidekick. A great article that all of us in the band are proud of.
3. We had to take some newer press photos for the article. Some are pictured below.

4. I have been working like crazy and have had horribly sore arms for the last two weeks. No, really! Un-canningly painful.

Sorry, it's been so long. I've been slightly busy the last few weeks. Lots of work, lots of music, and not lots of anything else really. For an update, I did purchase a brand new workstation keyboard, an M-Box, ( recording board), two Yamaha Studio Monitor Speakers, some recording programs, and lots of cables. This was made possible by the recent re-configuring of our apartment. What was once the office is now the bedroom, and what was once the double-sized master bedroon is now the media/art room. My slowly growing recording studio and Shiloh's soon to be drawing table and art "stuff" are what make up the new "Awesome Room." I will have some before and after pictures here fairly soon. But, for now, since I know people like pictures, my brother made a poster for an upcoming show of my bands in Walla Walla. Here it is. We also added a new updated song to my bands MySpace page. It was redone because a company that makes Extreme Sports movies wanted it in their movie that is premiering at The Met in Spokane, Dec. 9. Thus the newer version. Be sure to let us know what you think of it.

I get so bugged by the fact that people break basic traffic laws in front of me all the time, and I always wish that a cop were there to put them in their place. Well, yesterday I was at a traffic stop with a cop waiting to turn left beside me. Then as our light turned green a blue corvette went flying through the intersection, attempting to beat the already red light. I instantly turned to Shiloh and said, "Sweet! That guys totally screwed!" And as I turned and looked at the cop, I noticed a small smirk cross his face as he flipped on his lights and pulled that "do-badder" over.
I feel so good inside. :-)

Casey upon recieving knowledge that Nickel Creek was coming to town.

Me, Brian, and Casey stoked out of our minds at The Big Easy Concert Hall in Spokane.

The opening act, Andrew Bird. (I highly recommend checking him out on iTunes. This guy is incredible. He plays a violin by strumming it like a mandolin. Plus he played everything, by looping, all except the drums. His drummer was amazing too. He'd play the drums and everyonce in a while play the keyboard while he kept playing the drums.)

And here is Nickel Creek, being Nickel Creek. Totally Awesome!!! Definatly the best concert I've seen in a while.

"Let's finish an EP in one day!" = Failure

So.....our expectations of what we could finish in one day in an actual recording studio may have been a tad high. However, it was a successful day. We got our three main songs down as nearly complete scratch tracks. Which is really good, considering other bands that have been in this studio spent an entire day on one song. So we are going back in about a month to lay down over dubs, re-do some vocals, finish the drums, and add some fun intros and effects to the songs. Rob, our engineer and co-producer, said that he's stoked with how our stuff is sounding and coming along, and he isn't going to let us finish until he is satisfied with the ourcome. This is great for us, but bad for those of you that are waiting to hear our stuff. Sorry, but it could still be a while. However, we will make sure it was worth the wait. Check back for more updates. Ciao.

So when I went to Walla Walla College (no, not community college or whitman) I took General Biology for 3 entire quarters. And boy were they the icing on the cake for my college experience. Sooooo, anyway, when i transfered to Eastern Washington University (no, not Gonzaga, or community college, or falls community college) the totally tubular staff here decided that "HA! We'll count all these courses as one quarters worth of a science! Mwaaaahahahhahahaaaagrrrruuuaaaammmmeeeehewee."

..........

So, the whole point of this was to tell my friend Bob that I'm taking Geology this quarter. Because rocks are cool, and covered in dirt. And some people study rocks...........whatever.

My New Car

So I was in Radio Shack some time ago, trying to by some audio cables, and the lady in front of me is trying to have her cell phone fixed. The employee at the counter looks at the phone from several different angles, in the same manner that most males look at a car engine when they have no idea what to look for. After tapping random parts of the phone, the man hands the phone back to the lady and tells her, "If the phone still doesn't work in a half-an-hour, call me."

So, I almost died from a Tsunami over my vacation. I was just sitting with my brother and wife at our quaint little bon-fire on the beach, when all of a sudden, air-raid sirens go off. At first, there was a few moments of total awkwardness. Everyone on the beach just kind of sat there, looking at each other with blank stares. I was thinking, "Now, I personally believe that that would qualify as a bad sound." Then a couple families bolt off the beach. Next thing you know, everyone is running from the beach. Some people crying, others with blank looks of terror, as everybody jumped in the nearest car to get to higher ground.

Me? I luckily had the common sense to take the time to run up the three flights of stairs to our condo, search through my stuff, and grab the camcorder, in case something actually did happen.

Nothing did.

There was an interesting moment as about 300 people tried to give their own "Experienced" knowledge of tsunami's to the other panicked by-standers on the hill-top, as if this was a common occurrence for them.

"Oh yeah, don't worry. The one yesterday only killed 18 people, and the one right after breakfast? Three!"

Just shut up and let the worried people think their blown-out-of-proportion thoughts on what could possibly happen. Stuff like: if they'll live, if they'll see it as it happens, if they'll get to eat that maple bar they wanted so badly.

Anywho......there was one guy who was complaining about how he was missing the NBA Finals. Me, on the other hand, I had just wished I had worn some shoes.

I will be gone for about a week. For those of you from Canada, translation: I'm gonna be goon for a boot a week eh?

I'm going to Cannon Beach, OR. Hopefully I'll have pictures of my awesome, highly coveted trip for all you to stare at blankly.

We don't do much anymore so I don't consider it, "my band." I'm actually in the process of starting up a new one. A christian rock band to be precise.
